Metaphor
By
Zoe, age 12
Life is a movie
The beginning,
not making much sense
But later on,
containing adventures
Tragedies
Confusion
Understanding
Problems
Solutions
And at the end,
Walking out
Feeling dizzy
And ready to go home.

Music
By
Arin
Age 13
Music is play
Not work
Like some may think
To me
It’s pleasure.
Enveloped with magical tone
Escape to a world
Entirely your own
No worries
No thoughts
But
Crescendo,
Vibrato,
Diminuendo.
Songs fill me
Flute etudes
To violin sonatas
Always changing
But never completely
leaving
my mind.
Before instruments
When I was small
Even then
I loved music.
We played the fridge
Spoons on jars
Each note
Different utensils
Awed
At the diverse
Harmony
That everyday objects
Can create. |
